Brittani and Josh’s Madeira Beach wedding combined a saturated palette of jewel tones, rich textures, and romantic candlelight. The result was a dark and moody celebration befitting the autumn season.
“I leaned into the décor at the venue. I love a darker, moody vibe and feel, and my coordinator took it from there,” the bride shared. “I love red, so a color in that family was always going to be a part of my wedding day.”
The New Port Richey couple envisioned a fall wedding that departed from the traditional beach style. They sought a venue with a clean and contemporary aesthetic and flexible spaces for different aspects of the day. With an inclusive setting that could conveniently house their 130 guests from the ceremony through the reception, The West Events was an ideal choice.
“I grew up ten minutes from Madeira Beach and have always loved the area. Being from Florida, I wanted a beach wedding without being on the beach, so it was the best of both worlds,” the bride gushed. “It was important that we have everything in one place. At The West Events, everything was provided there. There was no moving the wedding party to a reception spot. The list of vendors was extremely helpful and did half the leg work for me. Plus, the open houses they had also allowed me to get ideas from the vendors they use. Overall, their service was impeccable.”
In fact, the pair were so impressed by their venue that they booked it before they were officially engaged.
“We put a deposit on the venue even before we got engaged; we just knew,” Brittani added.
Wood grain walls, cross-back chairs, and a geometric arch were paired with burgundy velvet fabrics and eggplant taper candles, creating warmth and texture in the space. Black-eyed anemones popped against maroon garden roses, merlot chrysanthemums, and emerald greenery. Suspended Edison bulbs and flickering candles lit the dining tables, while violet lighting washed the reception walls for an intimate and romantic reception space.
The bride and groom prioritized finding a great DJ who could create a vibrant vibe and keep the dance floor packed all night long. Graingertainment understood the assignment and achieved the energetic atmosphere they envisioned.
“We wanted a great party,” Brittani beamed. “Graingertainment came highly recommended by our event planner and photographers. He knew how to get the crowd dancing. He set the mood and kept everyone on the dance floor.”
With the venue mere steps away from white sand beaches, the couple took picturesque photos amidst an ocean sunset, then popped back across the street to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests.
“What made our wedding unique was that we were able to join everyone during cocktail hour and get photos out on the beach in between,” the bride reminisced. “The energy and joy was felt by all.”
From the moment the couple was introduced into the reception through a tunnel of whimsical bubbles courtesy of bubble guns to the last dance at the end of the evening, the party went full-throttle. The lively ambiance of the reception led to one of Britanni’s favorite memories of the evening when Josh began doing acrobatics among the crowd!
“One of the most memorable moments of the day was when my husband was doing back flips on the dance floor. I mean how unexpected!” the bride recalled.

The Proposal:
We put a deposit on the venue four months in. Even before we got engaged, we just knew. Two months later, Josh asked me to pick a hand behind his back, and it had my engagement ring in it.
