Amanda and John's Tampa Heights wedding featured classic flora accented by rustic wood décor, gold geometric touches, nods to Disney, and shots of whiskey.

The Tampa bride and groom incorporated personal touches to their neutral wedding with favored music selections and a unique brunch menu, including a doughnut tower. When it came to the overall vibe of the wedding, Amanda opted for classic white blooms with blue and gold accents and elected simple adornments.

“The color scheme was gold, white, and blue. Our centerpieces were gold terrariums with white flowers and greenery. We choose blue as an accent color because it’s our shared favorite color,” the bride explained. “Our overall theme was simple and understated with small centerpieces and minimal flowers. We choose to keep the décor simple to keep the planning process easy for us, and you can never go wrong with white flowers.”

The couple sought a Tampa wedding photographer who could put them at ease in front of the camera and capture their emotions throughout the day.  Upon meeting Amber from Amber McWhorter Photography, the couple knew she was a perfect fit.

“It was important that our photographer not only bring us out of our shells for the portrait shots but also capture our personalities in the moment for wonderful action shots,” Amanda explained. “We were sold on Amber McWhorter Photography after our first meeting. We felt she had the exact personality that understood what we were looking for and could guide us where needed.”

While planning their 68-guest affair, Amanda and John elected non-traditional elements to make their wedding unique, from favorite Disney songs during the ceremony, to a tower of donuts instead of a large wedding cake.

“We had a brunch wedding, and instead of a unity candle or sand blending ceremony, we took shots of Jameson,” the bride shared.  “We chose to take shots of Jameson as a kind of ‘unity ceremony' because it was the first shot we took together the night we met.”

It seemed only fitting that the centerpiece of their ceremony backdrop be a rustic whiskey barrel, courtesy of A Chair Affair, who also provided mahogany chiavari chairs and special tables for the reception.

“We wanted specific tables and chairs for our vision as well as a whiskey barrel for our ceremony. A Chair Affair came through and provided exactly what we were looking for at an unbeatable price,” Amanda raved.

Amanda admits that food and music were their top priorities, and explains that their choices in music were the most memorable part of their celebration.

“We played lots of 90's and 00's music at the wedding and even incorporated a couple favorite song selections from Beauty & the Beast and Star Wars in our ceremony processional and recessional music,” the bride reminisced. “We are huge Disney fans so incorporating those songs into our processional and recessional was a given.”

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We honeymooned at Walt Disney World at the Animal Kingdom resort. Walt Disney World is familiar, and my mother is a Disney Vacation Club member so the hotel stay was covered.
