Downtown Tampa Wedding | Tampa Club Wedding
Caroline and Matt’s downtown Tampa Wedding was inspired by iconic, local landmarks.
“We were going for an elegant, old Tampa quality,” the bride explained. “Growing up in Tampa I felt a connection to the classic landmarks, like University of Tampa as a backdrop for photos and the Columbia Café, where we had our rehearsal dinner.”
When it came to a choosing a wedding ceremony venue, only one place stood out to the Tampa couple.
“We always envisioned having a downtown Tampa wedding. I have loved Sacred Heart Church since I was a little girl and always imagined getting married there,” Caroline gushed.
Just a few steps away from the church, the couple celebrated 42 stories above the city, while overlooking Tampa Bay at downtown Tampa wedding venue The Tampa Club.
“The Tampa Club provided the perfect combination of elegance and beautiful downtown views. It was really a no-brainer once we met with the venue coordinator and had one look out the panoramic windows at the view of the entire city,” the bride shared.
To keep their wedding guests on the dance floor, Caroline and Matt hired Tampa Bay wedding DJ Graingertainment.
“One thing we were sure of, we wanted our wedding to be a really fun party. The music, food, and drink were very important to us. We wanted everyone to have a blast, since we love to dance and have a good time,” Caroline shared. “We chose Graingertainment due to the great reviews online, and after meeting with Chris, we felt confident that he would do a great job to keep the tempo up, and he did not disappoint. My 92-year-old grandmother even got up for a dance!”

Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments took place at the start of the ceremony.
“Walking down the aisle and seeing all of my dearest friends and family and then looking at Matt’s smiling face, I felt pure joy and all of my nerves went away,” Caroline reminisced.
The Proposal:
Matt surprised me with a weekend getaway to the Ritz-Carlton Resort in Naples. We had champagne on the balcony at sunset and reminisced about our favorite trips and special moments as a couple of eight years. When Matt got down on one knee, it all became a blur! It was the happiest night of my life.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted a sit down dinner in an intimate, elegant space downtown, close to the ceremony.
The Tampa Club was really a no-brainer once we met with the venue coordinator and had one look out the panoramic windows at the view of the entire city.
How would you describe your theme?
We were going for an elegant, old Tampa quality. Growing up in Tampa I felt a connection to the classic landmarks, like UT as a backdrop for photos, and Columbia Café, where we had our rehearsal dinner. I felt like everything came together well to evoke a timeless and classic feel.
What were your colors?
My colors were gold, rose gold, black and champagne. I wanted the colors to stay neutral to give the whole event a timeless feel, and the accents of gold added a sparkle.
What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
Energy and a fun EmCee for the evening. One thing we were sure of, we wanted our wedding to be a really fun party. The music, food, and drink were very important to us. We wanted everyone to have a blast, since we love to dance and have a good time.
We chose Graingertainment due to the great reviews online, and after meeting with Chris to review the overall flow of the reception, we felt confident that he would do a great job to keep the tempo up, and he did not disappoint. My 92-year-old grandmother even got up for a dance. Since we did not hire a wedding planner, it was a relief that Chris was there to manage the flow and timing of the evening.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay brides?
Don’t overdo it. With sites like Pinterest and Etsy, it’s easy to get carried away with DIY projects that look cute for a photo, but in the end are not worth the stress. If you keep things simple, it’s easier to focus on key elements that you’ll remember the most.
