Amelia and Nathan’s magical Clearwater Beach wedding gave their guests a taste of old Hollywood glam with movie-related décor, breathtaking views of the Gulf, and pops of color. Using Marry Me Tampa Bay as a resource for ideas and inspiration, the bride nailed her vision.

“Our theme was vintage meets modern-day cinema. We combined inspiration from old Hollywood’s classic elegance with fun props from some of our favorite films to perfectly capture our vision. If anyone knows us, they know about our deep obsession with films, which is why it felt so important for us to incorporate our love for movies,” the bride gushed. “I used Marry Me Tampa Bay for ideas and photos for inspiration. It helped me think about what I liked and wanted to incorporate into my wedding day. We wanted to stay true to the old Hollywood cinematic theme and thought the only way to do it was in classic Gatsby style!”

In search of a Clearwater Beach wedding venue that could offer an all-inclusive package with excellent service for their 95 guests, the Florida couple selected the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach to make their dream wedding a reality.

“I chose Isabel O’Neil Bridal because they were one of the only local boutiques that carried Galia Lahav gowns. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. All of the ladies were so sweet, and the one-on-one time in the boutique was perfect. Carrying her vintage meets Hollywood glam design throughout her wedding day, the bride searched for elegant gowns that would flatter her bridal party. As their special day came to a close, Nathan and Amelia will always hold a few special memories close to their hearts.

“The most memorable moments for us had to be the ceremony, vow readings, and the reception,” Amelia shared. “For the ceremony readings and reception toasts, the energy that surrounded us was incredible and everyone could feel the love. It was special to have all of the people we love, together celebrating with us. Everyone was just so happy to be there. Also, we will never forget ending the night on the dance floor. It almost felt like we were in a movie; everyone was dancing and looked as though they were having the time of their lives!”

What was your bridesmaids dress inspiration?
Since our theme was vintage meets modern Hollywood cinema glam, I wanted my girls to wear a classic and elegant style gown in a gold or latte hue. I wanted their dresses to flatter what I was wearing, since my gown had so many patterns and embellishments, so I figured a timeless simple design would match perfectly!

How did you incorporate you and your spouse’s personalities into the wedding?
Every aspect of the wedding incorporated our personalities in some way, from the decor to our vows, even our cake topper was a mini clay replica of Nate and I wearing our Star Wars helmets (bride as Darth Vader and groom as a Stormtrooper), posed as Mia and Sebastian from La La Land (one of our favorite movies). Our wedding day vibe is where our personalities shined most. We are very goofy and like to think of ourselves as the party starters in our group of friends, so it was important to us that the wedding itself was one epic party where friends and family could let loose and party their hearts out.

What was your wedding dress inspiration? 
Before I was engaged, I had always known the designer and gown I wanted to say ‘I do’ in. Galia Lahav’s bold and glamorous designs captivated me for years and the ‘Gala_708’ was my dream gown. Its deep plunge V neck, open back, body-hugging silhouette, and intricate lace design was everything I wanted for my big day. Once I tried it on, it felt like love at first sight. I just knew it was the one.

A venue that was pretty much all-inclusive and able to mark off most boxes on our wedding checklist was ideal. We wanted to make wedding planning as easy as possible, so a venue that could basically handle everything in-house was a priority. It was also important to have all of our guests and wedding festivities under one roof.

Quoting movie lines on a daily is our native language, and our house is filled with movie-related décor. We figured there was no better way to display our mutual love and bond for cinematic films than to make it the theme of our union!

What did you look for in a wedding rental company?
Recommendations! Our wedding venue provided a list of recommended vendors they worked closely with which made things so much easier. I found that hiring vendors who are used to or have worked together before, made for a seamless process the day of the wedding.

What were your colors?
Black, white, gold, and pops of berry. We wanted to stay true to the old Hollywood cinematic theme and thought the only way to do it was in classic Gatsby style! Given that our wedding was in the spring, we added in some jewel-toned colors to give it that extra flair!

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Make sure you are absolutely 100% confident in the vendors you choose to take part in your wedding day. These are the people you are entrusting to make your vision become a reality, so if you don’t feel comfortable or feel like something might be off, don’t ignore that feeling! Take your time when searching for vendors and listen to your gut!
