Elegant Clearwater Beach Wedding | Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach
Maggie and Mike’s outdoor Clearwater Beach wedding featured a rooftop ceremony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and ballroom wedding reception with a grey, white and purple color palette.
“I stayed away from an actual theme, but wanted a lounge-y, glamorous feel with chandeliers, sparkle and just a touch vintage,” the bride explained.

The Tampa couple chose to have their wedding in Clearwater and wanted a venue that would give them great beachfront views without having to get sandy.
“The Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach was just perfect. The ceremony was on the terrace looking out over the water and cocktail/reception was downstairs in a room facing the beach. No sand in my shoes with the same view!” Maggie beamed. “The sales team was always willing to answer 1,000,000 emails and probably answered the same question three times without hesitation. Their event staff is so helpful from pre-booking, until well after the event.”

Despite being organized, Maggie quickly realized that she needed the assistance of Clearwater Beach wedding planner Kimberly Hensley Events.
“I didn’t think I needed a planner. I plan things every day at my job. However, after being involved in a car accident and losing a few months recovering, I realized I needed professional help. I looked for someone who could communicate quickly via text/email, work on a short timeline and who could come up with ideas then let me choose,” Maggie explained. “After speaking with Kimberly and Brittney of Kimberly Hensley Events, I was very confident in their ability to deliver what I was looking for. They were able to keep me on track when we had a deadline, do the research for me to save me time and provide options. Their service was incredible, thorough and personal to us.”

Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments was spending time with her soon to be husband before they said their ‘I dos.’”
“Our first look was awesome! Having the time to be together ahead of the ceremony was one of the best decisions ever. It really takes away some of the pressure walking down the aisle,” Maggie reminisced.
The Proposal:
Mike and I love to travel. New Orleans was our first “real” trip together when we first started dating, and we have gone at least once a year for the past few years. Last February, just before my birthday, he proposed on the balcony at Muriel’s overlooking Jackson Square on the first night of our vacation, so we had more to celebrate while we were there!
What was your your theme?
We wanted our wedding to be intimate and for guests to feel welcomed. We added little touches such as pashminas, bathroom baskets, flip-flops, etc. to make sure people had anything that they could need. We also personalized some items and wrote our ceremony script to make it very unique to us. I stayed away from an actual theme, but wanted a lounge-y, glamorous feel with chandeliers, sparkle, and just a touch vintage.
What were your colors?
The overall palette was grey, metallic and white with a small amount of deep purple.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
While we were married at the beach, none of it was actually on the beach.

We have booked the Hyatt for several upcoming functions at my job as a result of my stellar wedding experience there.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
I didn’t think I needed a planner. I plan things every day at my job. However, after being involved in a car accident and losing a few months recovering, I realized I needed professional help. I looked for someone who could communicate quickly via text/email (I hate talking on the phone), work on a short timeline and who could come up with ideas then let me choose.
After speaking with Kimberly and Brittney of Kimberly Hensley Events, I was very confident in their ability to deliver what I was looking for. They were able to know that my life is hectic and work around my schedule. They were also able to keep me on track when we had a deadline, do the research for me to save me time and provide options. What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
You need a planner. Even if you don’t think you do, at least consider a day-of planner. They take off so much stress (and I am not someone who usually stresses). When people say the day flies by, they’re right. It will be over in a blink of an eye. Try to take it in and enjoy it, but you will always look back and wish you had more time.
