Downtown Tampa Wedding at The Vault | Winter Wonderland Wedding
Ashley and Eric’s speciality lighting, music and tall centerpieces added to the club-like ambience of their winter wonderland downtown Tampa wedding.
“We got married in January, and I wanted to incorporate winter which is my favorite time of year,” the bride shared. “[Our colors were] silver, royal blue and white; they reminded me of snow and winter.
The Tampa couple searched for a downtown Tampa wedding venue that was close to their ceremony location.
“I loved the character and historic and modern elegance of The Vault,” Ashley gushed. “Our guests were able to walk from the ceremony to the reception.”
To keep the bride on track with her wedding planning, Ashley hired Tampa wedding planner Special Moments.
“I had no idea what I was doing! I needed someone to help guide me through the process of choosing vendors, decorations, etc.,” the bride explained. “My sister-in-law hired Special Moments for her wedding and said that Tammy was wonderful to work with and that she really made her wedding day memorable.”

The Proposal:
Eric surprised me with an unexpected Valentine’s Day weekend away at the Sandpearl on Clearwater Beach. On the morning of the day he proposed, he booked me a massage and manicure/pedicure. After the spa, we watched the sunset over a few cocktails. Then we went back to our hotel room, so we could get ready for dinner.
When I opened the door, there were rose petals scattered across the floor, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and candles everywhere. I stood in the doorway for a few seconds not realizing what was going on; then it hit me, I was about to get engaged! Eric got down on one knee and proposed. We both started crying and of course I said “Yes!”
What was the deciding factor for the venue you chose?
I loved the character and historic and modern elegance of The Vault. Our guests were able to walk from the ceremony to the reception.
How would you describe your theme?
Winter Wonderland, because we got married in January, and I wanted to incorporate winter which is my favorite time of year.
What were your colors and why did you chose them?
Silver, royal blue and white. They reminded me of snow and winter.
Why did you hire a wedding planner?
I had no idea what I was doing! I needed someone to help guide me through the process of choosing vendors, decorations, etc.,” the bride explained. “My sister-in-law hired Special Moments for her wedding and said that Tammy was wonderful to work with and that she really made her wedding day memorable.
What did you look for in a wedding florist?
Creativity and someone who could take my vision to the next level. Apple Blossoms Floral Designs was extremely professional, and I knew they could bring my vision to life.
How did you incorporate you and your husband’s personalities into the wedding?
With the music and lighting. We both wanted a traditional ceremony but a club-like reception so everyone would dance and have a good time.
What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
Someone with personality and who could also provide lighting. Michael of Nature Coast Entertainment had a great personality and brought wonderful ideas to the table. My husband loves to dance so we had to make sure Michael Jackson songs were playing throughout the night!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Hire a wedding planner, especially for the day of your wedding to keep everything running smoothly and on schedule. My wedding planner was a godsend which allowed me to enjoy the day instead of worrying about the details.
Also, your wedding day will go by in a flash, so don’t sweat the small stuff! Remember why you are getting married in the first place, because you met the man of your dreams!
