Julia and Brandon's Treasure Island beach wedding reflected the couple's laid back personalities and their love for the Tampa Bay beaches.

“We were both born and raised locally, so having our wedding in St. Pete was just second nature. Treasure Island was the perfect place,” the bride gushed. “One of my favorite date days with my husband was spent on Sunset Beach. We got engaged there, so why not get married there too?! It’s just a special place to us.”

The bride chose a timeless feel for her Florida beach wedding with a vintage, rustic theme, coupled with pink, white cream and gold colors.

“We didn’t want a traditional wedding where there is one accent color and everything is white and that color. We love the look of all the neutral and pale colors together,” Julia explained. “It was classic and simple elegance.”

Although she originally wanted to plan her own wedding, the bride quickly understood the importance of hiring a St. Pete wedding planner.

“Once I realized just how much goes into getting everything ready and perfect the day of, I was completely overwhelmed. That’s when I started looking into a day of coordinator. Honestly, it was one of the best investments I made,” Julia shared. “I knew from the second I spoke with Exquisite Events that they would be perfect. I am very OCD and like everything a certain way. Ashley Radtke, the coordinator, totally surpassed all my expectations! She literally brought my vision to life. I got to enjoy my day with friends and family, totally stress free!”

To capture their big day, the Oldsmar couple hired St. Pete wedding photographer Essentia Photography.

“Jaimi [of Essentia Photography] is an artist with her camera. She did our engagement pictures too and has a way of making you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Her pictures are breathtaking!” the bride gushed.

Looking back, one of Julia's most memorable moments occurred during the ring exchange.

“During the ring vows, the officiant used the word ‘token' instead of ring and my husband froze, having no idea what he was talking about and totally panicked (his face was priceless). We love to laugh and this definitely had everyone laughing,” the bride reminisced.

The Proposal:
We had been dating for three and a half years when Brandon proposed. As much as I wanted him to propose, I honestly did not see it coming at all!

I was heading home on a Friday night, and we decided to go to the beach and watch the sunset, because it was beautiful outside. We walked the beach and sat on a bench; there were dolphins playing out in the water. I remember thinking what a peaceful and beautiful moment it was. Then, Brandon whipped around on one knee with a ring box in his hand.

I thought it was a joke at first when I saw him on one knee, because he has pretended to propose just to be funny a million times! I had trouble processing what had just happened and not even sure if I answered his question. The tears were flowing, and I wrapped my arms around him. It was the perfect proposal for us, beautiful beach setting, and just the two of us.

How would you describe your theme?
Vintage/rustic/shabby chic. It was classic and simple elegance.

What were your colors?
We incorporated pale pink, white, cream, burlap and gold into our wedding theme colors. They just look so elegant all together. We didn’t want a traditional wedding where there is one accent color and everything is white and that color. We love the look of all the neutral and pale colors together.

What was the most memorable moment?
The ring vows. The officiant used the word “token” instead of ring and my husband froze, having no idea what he was talking about and totally panicked (his face was priceless). Like I said, we love to laugh and this definitely had everyone laughing.St. Pete Beach-Treasure Island Wedding Ceremony

Why did you hire a wedding planner?
Originally, I planned on doing everything myself to help save money. Once I realized just how much goes into getting everything ready and perfect the day of, I was completely overwhelmed. That’s when I started looking into a day of coordinator. Honestly, it was one of the best investments I made.

I knew from the second I spoke with Exquisite Events that they would be perfect. I am very OCD and like everything a certain way. I had so much décor that I had bought or made, and I had envisioned the reception to look a certain way. Ashley Radtke, the coordinator, totally surpassed all my expectations! She literally brought my vision to life. Exquisite Events legitimately cares about their clients and the reviews prove that. I got to enjoy my day with friends and family, totally stress free!

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Enjoy every moment. It is such a wonderful and exciting time, and it goes by so incredibly fast. Really make sure you take the time and soak in every moment.

Don’t let anything ruin your day. My mom told me that something will go wrong on the wedding day…she told me that a million times. And she was right, things do not always go as planned, but just let it be and enjoy the moments that are so wonderful.
