What inspired you to start your business? My husband and I started A&P Designs back in 2009. At that time, there weren’t a lot of custom invitation studios available. back then, you went to a stationer to pick invitations out of a book. There were very little customizations that were able to be made. When my husband and I were planning our wedding we spent so much time & energy creating a wedding style that told our story and I wanted our stationery to really reflect our event. So when all the options were lack luster I decided to design my own. And, one thing led to another and our business was born. About two years into running our business we saw a need for letterpress printing. At that time there were very little little press printers in the country and because of this letterpress printing was very expensive. So we decided to bring it to the Tampa Bay Area and by printing everything ourselves we were able to make letterpress affordable. We found a 100 year old printing press and rescued it, cleaned it up and got it running again and the rest is history. We now have 4 printing presses that my husband runs & operates.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category? We offer affordable letterpress printing and do all of our letterpress printing in house on our antique printing presses.
Describe your ideal client: Our ideal client is someone who values paper and the importance of a wedding invitation. They want to create an invitation that they will cherish for a lifetime.
Favorite place to meet with other vendors: We meet all our clients at Station House St. Pete.
Favorite gift to receive from another vendor: Wine or champagne.
What is Something Vendors Would Be Surprised to Know About You? We were one of the first letterpress printers in the Tampa Bay Area offering wedding invitations.
Fun facts: My family and I love to travel. We especially love to travel around the country in our sprinter van and we do a lot of #vancamping. We have a goal to visit all 50 states and 63 national parks as a family.

Additional info: I letter everything by hand, not with vinyl and a cutting machine, though I do some digital design for reproduction or really large pieces. I try to encourage a degree of eco-consciousness, using thrifted and upcycled pieces like a vintage mirror instead of mass-produced cheap throwaway signage from overseas. I’d recommend sea glass place cards/favors instead of plastic, to give another example.
What is Something Vendors Would Be Surprised to Know About You? One thing others would be surprised to know about me is how clumsy a person I am for someone whose career depends on precision.

We love creating original designs and being able to incorporate our couples style into all the little details of their wedding day.
