Vintage Pink, Mint Green, Gold and Ivory Tampa Wedding | The Palmetto Club

Vintage Pink, Mint Green, Gold and Ivory Tampa Wedding | The Palmetto Club

Jessica and Ray planned a vintage Tampa wedding complete with several DIY touches.

“I personally designed all of our invitations and designed, printed and put together all of our programs. We bought brooches to attach to each escort card as a gift to our guests,” the bride explained. “Ray handmade a small ladder from scratch to place ‘L-O-V-E' letters on for décor in the garden. We also made a wooden sign for the front entrance of the ceremony and an aisle sign to gate off the aisle.”

The Bradenton couple searched for a Tampa wedding venue that would complement their pink, gold and ivory wedding.

“I loved the Palmetto Club because it had a modern, vintage feel,” Jessica said. “The venue also had a very elegant feel, which I loved since we were having a formal wedding.”

With the bride working full-time and pursuing her Master's degree, Jessica saw the importance of hiring a Tampa wedding planner.

“I felt having someone who is experienced and who would know which wedding vendors are good would be less stressful and allow us to enjoy the wedding process,” the bride explained. “I hired Kimberly [of Kimberly Hensley Events] because she seemed very in tuned to what she does. She was very confident in her abilities, and I was overly impressed by Kimberly’s ability to pull everything off the day of our wedding.”

Looking back, Jessica reminisced about the unforgettable events of the day.

“The most memorable moments of our wedding are when we were announced as husband and wife and our first dance, because we had a choreographed dance and a lot of time and thought went into it,” the bride gushed.

What helped make your wedding unique?
I personally designed all of our invitations and designed, printed and put together all of our programs. We bought brooches to attach to each escort card as a gift to our guests. Ray handmade a small ladder from scratch to place “L-O-V-E” letters on for décor in the garden. We also made a wooden sign for the front entrance of the ceremony and an aisle sign to gate off the aisle.

The Proposal:
Ray proposed to me underwater during a SeaVenture at Discovery Cove on our five year anniversary. I was shocked and didn’t know what to do since we were underwater, so I just stood there and smiled in awe. After a few seconds Ray got off his knee and pulled me into him and hugged me. Then we went back to the cabana, and he got down on one knee and proposed to me again on land this time and of course I said yes!

What were the deciding factors for the venue you chose?
I loved the Palmetto Club because it had a modern, vintage feel. The venue also had a very elegant feel, which I loved since we were having a formal wedding.

How would you describe your theme?
We chose a vintage theme for our wedding, because I liked subtle elegance that vintage décor has, and I thought it felt romantic.

What were your colors?
Our colors were blush pink, mint green, ivory, and gold. I chose these colors because I felt they were romantic colors.

What weddings vendors really exceeded your expectations?
Our florist, Florist Fire, did an amazing job with all of our floral arrangements. She went above and beyond by hanging lanterns in the trees at our venue and making the arch for our ceremony. All of the floral arrangements were amazing.

Why did you hire a wedding planner?
I hired a wedding planner because I am currently in school for my Master’s degree and I work full-time, so I felt having someone who is experienced and who would know which wedding vendors are good, would be less stressful and allow us to enjoy the wedding process.

I hired Kimberly [of Kimberly Hensley Events] because she seemed very in tuned to what she does. She was very confident in her abilities, and I was overly impressed by Kimberly’s ability to pull everything off the day of our wedding.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
I would advise bride to consider hiring a wedding planner. I know a lot of people don’t believe wedding planners are necessary, but having a wedding planner truly allowed us to have a peaceful and fun experience at our wedding. I truly believe we would never be able to have the wedding we had if it wasn’t for Kimberly’s help!
