Spring Garden Tampa Wedding – The Palmetto Club

They say that Disney is the happiest place on Earth, but did you know it's also a great place to meet your future husband?

While working as an acrobatic performer at a Disney Hollywood Studios parade, Kelly injured her ankle and was treated by a new on-site trainer Eric.

“I had Eric tape my ankles and we began to talk, a few weeks later I invited him to go out with my friends and I from work, and we have been inseparable ever since!” Kelly said.

While celebrating their two-year anniversary at Jacksonville Beach, near the groom's alma mater, Eric proposed.

“We went out to dinner and then walked on the beach and that's where Eric dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him!” Kelly gushed.

Spring Garden Tampa Wedding – The Palmetto Club

Kelly and Eric wanted a garden, spring wedding and chose Tampa Bay wedding venueThe Palmetto Club.

“The main deciding factor for my venue was the layout and style of the venue. It gave me the garden area, a nice veranda for the cocktail hour and a very nice elegant ballroom for the reception,” Kelly explained.

Instead of choosing one or two wedding colors, Kelly chose a whole palate of spring hues: purple, blue, turquoise and green for the wedding cocktail hour, and all white for the wedding reception.

“My reasoning behind not doing all of it one or the other was because I couldn't decide. Then I thought why should I just pick one? So I decided to do exactly what I wanted for everything,” the bride said.

To assist with the wedding planning, Kelly and Eric hired Tampa Bay wedding planner Kimberley Hensley Events.

“I hired a wedding planner to have the wedding flow and have someone there to help me as much as possible. I trusted [Kimberley's] judgement the most and I could really tell that she loves her job. She really cared about what I wanted and my wedding, like it was her own. She wasn't pushy; she was very attentive and super easy to talk to,” Kelly said. “She went above and beyond to give me exactly what I wanted.”

As Kelly reflected on her wedding day, she said her most memorable moment occurred during the wedding ceremony.

“I was walking down the aisle and I could see my grandfather (who was our officiant), my best friend standing on one side, and Eric standing on the other,” the bride reminisced.

What advice do you have for other Tampa Bay Brides?
Hired a wedding planner! It's too much to do all on your own, and I promise you will forget things.

Also, do all the little things as soon as you can because even though they might not seem like they would take very long when you wait till the last minute they all pile up and its overwhelming.

Never be afraid to ask questions, definitely do a tasting for food, and lighting changes the mood of a room more than you think.
