Modern Industrial St. Petersburg Wedding | NOVA 535 Wedding
Victoria and David’s modern, industrial St. Petersburg wedding featured a mauve, grey, cream, silver and gunmetal color palette that showcased the bride’s contemporary style.
“Our theme was very industrial chic. I am most definitely preppy with an edgy side, so I really wanted a theme that showcased my personality,” the bride explained.
The Dunedin bride and groom hosted their wedding in the bustling downtown St. Pete area.
“We chose to have our wedding in St. Petersburg because it is a very lively area that not only gave us a great selection for where we wanted to have our ceremony, but also gave our guests a lot of options for things to do. Since we have family out-of-state, we really wanted to pick a place that they would enjoy,” Victoria shared.

To complement their industrial wedding theme, the couple selected modern St. Pete wedding venue NOVA 535.
“The exposed brick and high ceilings of the NOVA 535 were perfect! It is a beautiful venue that allowed the wedding to flow nicely and worked best with my industrial theme,” the bride gushed. “The open space gave me the opportunity to have a gorgeous ceremony outside.”
Since the bride had a very specific vision for her wedding day, she enlisted the expertise of St. Petersburg wedding planning Special Moments Event Planning.
“I needed someone who was compatible with me and all of my ideas, especially since I wanted to be involved in the planning and design. I needed someone who could work by my side to make sure that my vision could become a reality,” Victoria explained. ” From the moment I spoke with Tammy of Special Moments Event Planning, she knew and felt my vision. From there on out, I trusted her every vendor suggestion. She didn’t stop until we got exactly what we wanted from each vendor. Tammy and her team we persistent and thorough from start to finish.”

With assistance from wedding florist Iza’s Flowers, the bride achieved her dream design, which included clean, crisp looking flowers with distressed wood and medals surrounding.
“When I met Iza of Iza’s Flowers and explained to her what I wanted, she totally got me. I felt as though I was heard,” Victoria shared. “She executed my vision better than expected. Before the wedding, I walked into the venue and couldn’t believe my eyes. I was in shock; the flowers, the tables, the lights, the marquee letters, the table settings, everything took my breath away! I was in complete awe! I think that it can be difficult to pull off an industrial chic wedding, but I am very fortunate that my team was phenomenal.”
Looking back, one of our Victoria’s most memorable moments was the mother/daughter dance.
“We picked the song and choreographed the dance together. We danced to Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s Lean On and just seeing how excited my daughter was to be a part of my big day meant a lot to me.”
The Proposal:
Our proposal is actually a really fun story because it did not work out nearly as my husband planned! Dave, planned a trip to Pittsburgh to visit his family since that is where he is from. We flew in, and he initially planned to propose at a beautiful restaurant in Pittsburgh, Duquesne Incline, that evening. He had a flight ready for my mother so that she could surprise me there and be a part of the proposal. There was one major issue, my mother’s flight got so delayed that she never made it out that night. I was wondering why he was acting so strange the entire night, very stressed and constantly checking his phone. Little did I know his entire plan was being put on pause. So the next day we planned a lunch with his parents, and he ended up proposing in the parking lot of Tables on the Green since my mother had finally arrived.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
I needed someone who was compatible with me and all of my ideas, especially since I wanted to be involved in the planning and design. I knew how I wanted the venue to look and how I wanted the evening to play out. I needed someone who could work by my side to make sure that my vision could become a reality.
I was told by other vendors and a couple of clients that Tammy of Special Moments Event Planning was the best. From the moment I spoke with her, she knew and felt my vision. From there on out, I trusted her every vendor suggestion. She didn’t stop until we got exactly what we wanted from each vendor. Tammy and her team we persistent and thorough from start to finish. I was always able to get ahold of her and she never made me feel like I was bothering her or a burden. Her communication was clear and I felt heard the entire way through.
How would you describe your theme?
Our theme was very industrial chic. I am most definitely preppy with an edgy side, so I really wanted a theme that showcased my personality.
What were your colors?
Mauve, grey, cream, silver and gunmetal since those are the colors that fit the theme the best.
What was your floral inspiration and what did you look for in a wedding florist?
I wanted clean, crisp looking flowers with distressed wood and medals surrounding. I wanted my bouquet simple and elegant. We decided to go with the peony and lily of the valley.
When I met Iza of Iza’s Flowers and explained to her what I wanted, she totally got me. I felt as though I was heard. She executed my vision better than expected. Before the wedding, I walked into the venue and couldn’t believe my eyes. I was in shock; the flowers, the tables, the lights, the marquee letters, the table settings, everything took my breath away! I was in complete awe! I think that it can be difficult to pull off an industrial chic wedding, but I am very fortunate that my team was phenomenal.
What was your wedding menu inspiration?
I was wanting to give my guests a dinner menu that offered a gourmet and savory variety. I was looking for a wedding caterer who could provide delicious food that would not only accommodate my guests’ diets, but also accommodate my vegan lifestyle. I wanted to have stations with a variety of flavors. I wanted a laid back feel where people could “pick.” I did not want a sit-down dinner
Good Food Catering is known for their stations. They were very easy to work with and gave me a free-range opportunity. It was nice to have such a beautiful dinner that offered options like chimichurri bistro steak to vietnamese summer rolls. They then shifted to have a simpler menu in the evening after partying which included a french fry bar and mini vanilla milkshake shooters. I wanted my guests to be eating and drinking the entire time they were there. Good Food definitely delivered!
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
I was looking for somewhere that would complement my edgy, industrial chic theme.
The exposed brick and high ceilings of the NOVA 535 were perfect! It is a beautiful venue that allowed the wedding to flow nicely and worked best with my industrial theme. The open space gave me the opportunity to have a gorgeous ceremony outside. Then with the inside, it was nice to have extra space upstairs to set up an additional bar and photo booth without compromising the dance floor and dinner space.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Don’t ever feel like you need to compromise anything. This is your big day, and I loved my day so much because it worked out exactly how I imagined. I have my vendors to thank for that, but I really took the time to make sure I found vendors who would work with what I wanted.
