Romantic Coral and Gold Greek Wedding | Innisbrook Resort

Alexa and Jarret's romantic coral and gold wedding was filled with crystal chandeliers, room transforming uplighting and tall centerpieces dripping in rhinestones.

A few months before their wedding, a fire damaged their original location, but the Tarpon Springs couple lucked out with the ornately decorated St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral for their Greek wedding ceremony.

“We grew up in Tarpon Springs, and this is where we would like to raise our children one day,” Alexa explained.

With large guest list in tow (it is a Greek wedding after all), the pair searched for a Tampa Bay wedding venue big enough to host their all of friends and families.

“We instantly loved Innisbrook, it was one of the only venues we had seen that had a rustic look to it on the outside with beautiful huge oak trees,” the bride shared. “It was also one of the only venues that was large enough for a Greek wedding.”

Photography was one of the most important elements of the couple's wedding, and they hired Palm Harbor wedding photographer Lisa Otto Photography.

“[We looked for} someone who took breathtaking and artistic photos,” Alexa explained. “Lisa's work[of Lisa Otto Photography] is absolutely beautiful, and we have known her for years!”

Looking back, the wedding ceremony stood out as one of the bride's most unforgettable moments.

“Walking down the aisle with my daddy and walking out of the church as husband and wife, while everyone threw rose petals on us was extremely memorable,” the bride reminisced.

The Proposal:
Jarret proposed at Discovery Cove in Orlando two years before our wedding. I was still in school at Florida Gulf Coast University when Jarret came up with the great idea of going to Orlando as a graduation gift for me. Obviously, this explained why we were going on this wonderful trip, so I had no idea he was about to do the one thing that would change our lives forever.

Our second day in Orlando we went to swim with the dolphins. After interacting with the dolphins, we walked up the beach to return to the tiki hut when one of the photographers from Discovery Cove asked us to step back in the water to take a new picture with the dolphin because ours came out blurry. This made me excited, so I ran right back in when one of the trainers sent the dolphin my way with a buoy in her mouth. My initial reaction was that we were playing fetch, so I grabbed the buoy out of her mouth and went to throw it. Luckily one of the trainers told me to stop and look at it, so I did and reread it three times, “Alexa, will you marry me?” I turned around to find Jarret with the biggest smile, and I obviously said, “Yes!” We proceeded up the beach where everyone was clapping, and Jarret got on his knee with the ring.

How would you describe your theme?
Romantic and elegant. It's just what I had always imagined our wedding to be.

What were your colors and why did you chose theme?
Coral and gold. Coral is a color Jarret and I chose long before he even proposed to me.

What were the deciding factors for the venue you chose?
We instantly loved Innisbrook, it was one of the only venues we had seen that had a rustic look to it on the outside with beautiful huge oak trees. It was also one of the only venues that was large enough for a Greek wedding. Our venue coordinator, Melissa Gordon, was also a joy to work with.
