With more Tampa Bay couples embracing intimate weddings with a focus on luxury experiences for their most treasured guests, this posh South Tampa wedding shoot showcases a chic and monochromatic fete fit for a modern bride and groom.

Located in the upscale Tampa neighborhood of Hyde Park, Hyde House, South Tampa's newest wedding venue boasts luxe finishes and a variety of event spaces, making it the perfect backdrop for this bold and contemporary design inspiration.

“When selecting our initial concept, I took into consideration the architecture and interior styling of the stunning Hyde House. I knew that I wanted to come up with a design that would be complementary to the space but bold enough to stand out,” Briana Thomas of Snapdragon Events explained. “Because the venue has so many different colors and finishes, I knew that the shoot would require a bold, timeless, and clean color palette to properly highlight the space and give it the luxury feel that matched the level of the venue.”

With such a chic venue, the wedding planner chose a vibrant color palette that fit perfectly with the space's aesthetic.

“A style that I've really been favoring lately is the monochromatic look and this felt like the perfect place to take advantage of the opportunity to fulfill my monochromatic dreams,” Briana beamed. “For me, red was a clear choice. I then chose the rest of the tones based on the interiors established in the space, warm wood and leather tones, striking black metals, and warm metallics.”

Hyde House offers several unique event spaces, including an outdoor balcony overlooking Hyde Park Village, loft-style reception space, and a state-of-the-art test kitchen which provided endless inspiration for this photo shoot's design, from the lavish stone and wood elements to the tall ceilings and exclusive feel.

“I wanted to pull off an experience-focused, quality over quantity, intimate wedding design, as that is my favorite type of event. My main inspiration for this shoot was the venue itself. The piece that stood out the most for our palette was the waterfall black marble accented with a live edge wood overlay that runs the length of the kitchen,” Briana remarked. “The test kitchen just begs to be used as a luxury, private dining space for an intimate gathering of your most VIP guests and that's just what we did. I chose tall and narrow vases and even taller stems to accentuate the height and layout of the room.”

Dramatic black dishware and dupioni silk napkins accented the oversized feasting table, with black-dipped gold flatware and gold-rimmed glassware adding a touch of sparkle.

“The rentals added to the overall ambiance of the tabletop by adding a subtle yet unique modern setting for the striking red floral arrangements,” Kristin Rose, Creative Director & Co-Founder of Kate Ryan Event Rentals explained. “We recommend rentals to our clients that will not only be functional but will elevate the look and feel of their event. We have many different categories of specialty rentals to choose from and are conveniently located in North Hyde Park just a mile and a half from the Hyde House.”

All of the unique details were artfully captured by Dewitt for Love Photography, who took advantage of the plethora of stunning backdrops throughout the venue, including tile-clad walls, a bright and airy ceremony space, and various hidden alcoves.

The piece de resistance from the entire design was the bride's attire and styling, featuring an impeccably fitted gown, sleek hair, and statement lip.

“By far, the bridal styling was my favorite thing of the entire shoot,” Briana raved. “When coming up with her overall look, I wanted something that felt modern but timeless. When Isabel O'Neil Bridal Collection sent us the image of the Margot gown from the Fall 2020 collection by Ines Di Santo, we knew that it was going to carry the tone that we wanted to set for the entire shoot. It was the icing on the wedding cake when the gown fit our bride like a glove.”

What were your favorite elements of this shoot?
By far the bridal styling was my favorite thing of the entire shoot. When coming up with her overall look, I wanted something that felt modern but timeless. I sent Samaly DeAssis of Isabel O'Neil Bridal Collection, a few examples of the style and overall look that I was going for and she knew exactly what we meant. When Samaly sent us the image of the Margot gown from the Fall 2020 collection by Ines Di Santo, we knew that it was going to carry the tone that we wanted to set for the entire shoot. It was the icing on the wedding cake when the gown fit our bride like a glove.

For hair, we chose a sleek, tucked look that would allow us to really focus on the neckline of the gown as well as leave a blank canvas for the beautiful jewels. For makeup, we chose a dewy look to be accented with warm tones and of course, keeping the palette in mind, a bold, merlot-tinted red lip.
