Davis Island Garden Club Wedding – Navy, White & Coral Tampa Wedding
Although Brittany and Nic were in the same high school graduating class, they didn't talk in the halls or the cafeteria.
But after an exhilarating game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox, Brittany commented on Nic's Facebook post, which started a conversation between the pair.
“We talked for almost two hours, messaging each other back and forth. We exchanged numbers and started texting,” the bride reminisced.
Just a few weeks later, Brittany and Nic went on their first date (to a Rays game of course!) and then became a couple the following month.
Just a week after they started dating, Nic moved to New York City for school and the Tampa couple survived the long-distance relationship.
The summer after college graduation, Nic proposed.
Navy, White & Coral Davis Islands Garden Club Wedding
Family was a driving factor for choosing a waterfront Tampa wedding venue.
“Having all of our family there was huge for us, so we had to find a venue that would fit everyone that we wanted to be there,” Brittany explained.
After searching for wedding venues throughout Tampa and Clearwater, the couple found the Davis Islands Garden Club.
“The Davis Islands Garden Club was our last stop and we fell in love. We loved that it was a blank slate and right on the water,” Brittany gushed. “Another selling point for us was the outside ceremony area, the patio cocktail area, and the indoor reception area. Plus the garden was beautiful!”
The bride didn't choose a particular theme, but used bright colors to complement the Garden Club's waterfront setting.
“I wanted my items to pop with coral and gold accents against the navy and white,” the bride said.
Although she had originally planned on having a family friend help with the wedding coordination, Brittany decided to hire a Tampa wedding planner.
“Ideal Design Events was amazing and did everything to help us with the day before, day of, and day after,” Brittany shared.
Looking back, Brittany said the quiet times her and Nic spent together throughout the day were unforgettable.
“One of the most memorable moments was spending a few minutes by ourselves before the reception and in the middle of the reception, just taking in what had happened.”

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Relax. I think the best thing I did all day was just relax, I didn't worry that it may rain at 5 p.m. or that my dress would get muddy from all the rain.
