NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Metro Nashville Police say they’re investigating at least four cases of short-term rentals getting robbed or broken into while groups of women are staying there on vacation.

FOX 17 Newsfirst reported last weekabout bachelorette parties getting targeted by robbers and burglars this past summer.

We’ve now learned of another incident from South Nashville, between the 12 South and Edgehill neighborhoods.

Police say a group of women woke up in their short-term rental to find burglars rummaging through their bags.

One of the women confronted them and chased them out of the home.

“I started screaming at them, I hurled over my mother-in-law, and I told them to get the f*** out of here, they didn’t f****** belong here, and started chasing them out of the house,” Crystal said.

She asked not to use her full name for privacy.

Crystal says she chased the group out the door and called police.

The burglars got away with cash, electronics, and their peace of mind.

“It wasn’t the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but we’re all safe so that was the main thing,” she said.

FOX 17 news has confirmed at least four bachelorette parties have been targeted by criminals in Nashville over the past few months. In one case, police say women were robbed at gunpoint inside their short-term rental home on Meharry boulevard.

The second case happened in the same building, when women woke up to find their house was broken into while they were sleeping.

And the third includes women getting robbed at gunpoint outside their short-term rental. Bullets shattered their front door, but thankfully the women weren’t physically hurt.

“It’s definitely put a damper on wanting to go back to Nashville, especially using the AirBnb services,” Crystal said.

FOX 17 News called and messaged the property managers of all three buildings involved to find out how they plan to keep future guests safe.

Not one company has returned a phone call or acknowledged that we reached out.
