Elegant, St. Pete Beach Wedding | The Hotel Zamora
Nicola and Jonathan’s elegant St. Pete Beach wedding featured nature inspired elements, complemented by coral, blush and champagne colors.
“We didn’t originally choose our colors; they came together organically,” the bride explained. “We started off with a very orange color scheme, and with the help of our florist, the colors evolved into corals, salmons, blushes, champagnes, ivory and a little green from the succulents. We accented with coppers, golds, and rose golds.”
The couple married in an intimate, outdoor St. Pete Beach wedding ceremony.
“It was important for us to stay close to home, since Jonathan was born and raised in St. Petersburg and all our closest friends live in the area,” Nicola shared. “It was most important that our wedding was intimate and outdoors, but not directly on the beach. We also wanted great food and great music.”
While you’d never know it, the pair planned their St. Petersburg wedding in just half a year.
“It may sound crazy, but we planned and executed our wedding in six months. I don’t’ recommend taking that route, but it can be accomplished,” the bride explained.
To assist with their short planning timeline, Nicola and Jonathan searched for a St. Pete Beach wedding planner who they could trust to make sure everything ran smoothly.
“We were looking for someone with whom we felt comfortable and confident with in executing our vision the day of the wedding,” the bride shared. “Blue Skies Events provided a package that fit our needs, and we felt comfortable that they could meet our expectations leading up to and on our big day. They did a very good job!”

Looking back, one Nicola’s most memorable moments came during the wedding ceremony.
“Some of our favorite moments were sharing our vows with one another. We had the best officiant, who happened to be a very close friend, so our ceremony and vows were heartfelt and humorous,” the bride reminisced.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?

The Proposal:
It was a beautiful day in May and we went to Flora Wylie Park just next to Northshore Park in downtown St. Petersburg to relax. We needed some recovery time, as we were at a wedding the night before.
We set our blanket down under our usual tree; the tree we sat under on our first date. Towards the end of a shoulder massage in the park, Jonathan suggested we have some champagne downtown.
As I turned around, he was on one knee, with the perfect ring, asking me to marry him.
After our own little celebration in the park, I was ready to head downtown, but he suggested we go for a Sunday drive. After winding around the streets of St. Pete for a bit, we ended up at a dear friend’s house, where all of our closest friends were, and we finally had our champagne! The proposal was perfect!
How would you describe your theme?
We can’t say that we really had a theme. We wanted our wedding to be elegant, modern and intimate.
What were your colors?
We didn’t originally choose our colors; they came together organically. We started off with a very orange color scheme, and with the help of our florist, the colors evolved into corals, salmons, blushes, champagnes, ivory and a little green from the succulents. We accented with coppers, golds, and rose golds.
