Sherry and Thom's coastal-inspired waterfront Dunedin wedding featured sea glass place cards, a neutral color palette with dusty blue and silver accents, and a stunning Florida sunset just minutes from their home.
“Our theme was elegant coastal with shades of blue because we both love the beach and living on the coast,” the bride shared. “Our colors were tropical ocean blues from deep to light with neutral grays, whites, and silver accents. We wanted lots of ties to the beautiful nature that was around us, so naturally, we went with blue and earthy greens.”
The bride and groom married in the charming coastal town of Dunedin, where they found the perfect waterfront location for their May wedding.
“We looked for a venue that was close to the church, along the water and had an elegant vibe, but yet very casual.We wanted a wedding where everyone was comfortable so the coastal theme really helped with that,” Sherry explained. “Marry Me Tampa Bay helped us select the right venue. The water has always been something that we have enjoyed together and to have the opportunity to have a waterfront wedding with only our friends and family was such an incredible experience.”
To keep their 52 guests entertained, the couple looked for a DJ who knew how to set the mood for the evening and makea lasting impact.
“We wanted a DJ who really knew what type of music we liked and the atmosphere we were trying to create,” Sherry articulated. “Grant Hemond & Associates was suggested by our venue. The entertainment was a big hit with all of our guests, and Craig Hemond took the time to meet with us and get to know our music tastes.”
One of the bride's most memorable moments of the day was a lighthearted joke that aligned perfectly with the casual atmosphere.
“Father Gary told our guests during the ceremony that he had heard my mother whisper to my husband, ‘She’s all yours now!' while I was giving him my hand, like I was a ton of trouble all her life and now I was his problem! It was really funny and made our guests laugh,” the bride reminisced.

The Proposal:
We originally had reservations on Mother's Day to take both our moms out to dinner. However, due to COVID, the restaurant had to cancel our reservations, so we decided to cook out steaks on the grill in our backyard.
After dinner, Thom unexpectedly got down on one knee and popped the question right there in front of both our mothers. I ecstatically said ‘Yes!' while my Goldendoodle barked continuously.

Where did you spend your honeymoon and why did you choose that location?
St. Thomas and St. John in the US Virgin Islands. We both had been there during a cruise and definitely wanted to spend more time there than just a port of call.
