Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club Coral, Spring Wedding – Tampa Wedding Planner Burkle Events
Liz and Charles Love Story:
We met in the winter of 2005 at our apartment complex in Tampa, FL. Our mutual friend was showing “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” outside on his garage via projector one night. Through the grapevine I had heard of this new boy named “Chucky” that just moved into our complex, but hadn’t formally been introduced to him yet. After the movie was over, Charles introduced himself, walked me home and charmed me with his charismatic personality. From that point forward we grew a friendship that eventually developed into a romance, that brought all of our close family and friends to Tampa on our wedding day.
The Proposal – As Told by the Groom:
Liz and I went to bed around 10 p.m. on December 7th, like we usually do…or at least one of us did.
I laid in bed and couldn’t fall asleep at all. I even made it completely through an episode of “the Real Housewives.” (That should have been the first clue to Liz that something was up). Finally at 5 a.m. I got out of bed for good, knowing I wasn’t going to be able to sleep. That was Liz’s second clue.
The day went on like a regular work day for both of us, well for her at least, Thursdays were long and tough days for her, making it a great day for a surprise. I had been thinking for months of how I could surprise her. The problem is, I knew a trip to the beach or a trip anywhere could be a giveaway, so I chose to do it on a weekday at our home.
After cleaning the condo, I decorated the place with flowers, along with red and white flower petals. I talked to her dad and mom to let them know this was the night. I ordered in her favorite meal from Doormet. I turned down all the lights and made sure the place was ready. Finally, I heard the doorknob turn. I got down on a knee with my speech ready to flow. She turned her key, opened the door and I completely choked!
After about a ten second pause I just said, “Will you marry me?!” She said, “Oh my God, Oh my God!” and hugged me. I replied, “So, is that a yes or no?” Finally she said, “Of course!” and it was official.
Coral Spring Wedding – Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club
Liz and Charles hosted a coral, spring wedding that focused on celebrating with their family and friends.
“The theme of our wedding was ‘Get Married,’” the bride shared. “Spring is my favorite season. One of the reasons I moved to Florida was the beautiful, natural greenery and scenery that the state has to offer, so I wanted a spring time wedding and wanted it to be classic and timeless.”
The South Tampa couple chose Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club for their outdoor wedding ceremony.
“Charles loves to golf, and we both loved the timeless beauty of Palma Ceia,” Liz explained. “The food and staff at country club are incredible, and they were willing to accommodate any request we threw at them.”
To keep her wedding day stress-free, the bride hired Tampa wedding planner Burkle Events.
“Burkle Events came highly recommended from other vendors that we were already working with. Since Charles and I are both from out-of-town and had never planned a big formal event before, their knowledge, reliability and experience came in handy,” Liz shared. “They gave us the sense of security that we were looking for.”
Looking back, Liz’s memorable moments took place during her wedding ceremony.
“Seeing Charles as I walked down the aisle and our whole ceremony was perfect,” the bride reminisced.
“Having Charles’ father perform our wedding ceremony was a tradition in his family that I was glad we could carry on.” – The Bride.
