Tampa Country Club Wedding | Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club Wedding

Chelsea and Jeffrey's Tampa country club wedding incorporated their a love for vineyards and wine.

“We incorporated a lot of different winery details: a wine bottle shaped shadow box as our guest book, wine corks for place card holders, wine bottles spray painted gold for centerpieces and wine stoppers as the guest favors,” the bride shared. “Fun fact: we consumed all of the wine bottles used in our décor over the year span it took to plan the wedding, much needed for the stress from the planning process!”

The Tampa bride and groom hosted an outdoor wedding ceremony, with a lake view and water fountain backdrop, followed by a navy blue, coral and gold ballroom reception.

“The ceremony was the most important. It displayed to all of our close friends and family how special and true our love is and the commitment that we made to each other by marrying in their presence,” Chelsea beamed.

To keep the day running smoothly, the pair looked for an all-inclusive Tampa wedding venue.

“We wanted an all-in-one venue that incorporated all areas needed in a wedding including: ceremony, reception, cocktail and lodging spaces,” the bride explained. “After months and months of researching and visiting different venues, we fell in love with the Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club. It had everything that is needed. There are very spacious hotel rooms just upstairs above the ceremony space, with breathtaking views of the water and golfing greens. The ceremony space itself is a verandah that overlooks the water with a fountain, which kept the guests cool during the hottest months. The coordinator, Rosa Martinez, is delightful and very planned and organized, making your wedding go smoother than you can even imagine.”

Looking back, some of the bride's most memorable moments were special gestures secretly planned by the groom.

“Jeffrey had live entertainment, including an acoustic song This I Promise You performed on guitar, as well as At Last sang live. He also had seven members of our families bring up a seven framed pictures, one taken every year that they had been dating,” Chelsea reminisced.

The Proposal:
On our final spring break of college, we decided to celebrate Jeff's brother's birthday by going on their first cruise. The plans were set, excursions booked  and bags packed. Jeff's mom, Nancy, was able to go too. On the first day, Jeff insisted that we get dressed up for the fancy dinner on the cruise that night. When it was close to dinner time, Nancy wanted to go around the ship to take pictures before eating.

When looking for enough lighting to take pictures, Jeff took me to a staircase on the upper deck where he got down on one knee and said, “Chelsea Marie, will you marry me?” I said “Yes!” He told me he wanted to set the wedding date on our dating anniversary of May 28th, which would mark seven years of being together!

How would you describe your theme?
We incorporated a lot of different winery details: a wine bottle shaped shadow box as our guest book, wine corks for place card holders, wine bottles spray painted gold for centerpieces and wine stoppers as the guest favors. Fun fact: we consumed all of the wine bottles used in our décor over the year span it took to plan the wedding, much needed for the stress from the planning process!

What were your colors?
Navy blue, coral and antique gold. They are our favorite colors, and they just so happened to go very well together.

What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted an all-in-one venue that incorporated all areas needed in a wedding including: ceremony, reception, cocktail and lodging spaces.

After months and months of researching and visiting different venues, we fell in love with the Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club. It had everything that is needed in an all-in-one wedding venue. Instead of having to get ready in one area, having to travel to the ceremony and then traveling to the reception, it takes the stress out for both the wedding party and the guests. There are very spacious hotel rooms just upstairs above the ceremony space, with breathtaking views of the water and golfing greens. The ceremony space itself is a verandah that overlooks the water with a fountain, which kept the guests cool during the hottest months. The cocktail hour was held in the Palms room with big gorgeous windows. Also, they have a full ballroom that is easily tailored to your theme. The food was catered on-site and everything was delicious. The coordinator, Rosa Martinez, is delightful and very planned and organized, making your wedding go smoother than you can even imagine. We opted to not having a wedding planner, and Rosa definitely filled in the hole. The days leading up to the wedding and the day of were super smooth and the thanks goes to her and her team.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Local Tampa bridal shows are really a big help. They have a lot of freebies and raffles, along with a bunch of ideas you can use for your own special day. Also, wedding blogs like Marry Me Tampa Bay is a great source for real, local vendors specifically for the Tampa Bay area.

Make sure to take the time to enjoy your special day. Don’t get so wrapped up and stressed about the details; relax and let everything go. People say that there’s no such thing as a perfect wedding, but as long as it’s perfect for you and your groom, that’s all that matters.
