The Big Fake Wedding’s Tampa showcase flawlessly executed a Pretty in Palm Springs theme with over twenty wedding vendors collaborating to provide a luxury wedding experience. Participating wedding vendors combined a boho and a classic mid-century modern style to create a bridal show meets wedding experience for soon-to-be weds held at Mision Lago Estate.
Assigning a color palette of coral pink, desert sage, golden glow, amber brown, tofu, and living coral, local wedding planners each designed their assigned table with a creative and original take on a modern tropical wedding style. Highlighting the wedding venue’s vast outdoor space, each area within Mision Lago illuminated a southern California glow.
The ceremony included a real vow exchange in the tree-lined enchanted forest as a live event painter captured the special moment. Guests proceeded to “Lover’s Lane” where they enjoyed custom cocktails and craft brews. The charming courtyard was vibrantly decorated with dried and preserved florals, brilliant balloon displays, and a champagne cart.
While mingling and enjoying the curated experience, couples toured the 20-acre property, which highlighted the lakefront ceremony location and working vineyard that made the California experience all the more tangible in the Sunshine state. The venue’s miniature ponies made a brief debut as they trotted throughout the green pasture.
The central focal point at any reception is the sweetheart table, which wedding and event planner Britny Compton with Coastal Coordinating took the honor of designing a head table worthy of a Palm Springs paradise. The table’s bright patterns and neutral details elegantly encapsulated the modern-boho aesthetic.
“I had several favorite elements of the table! The first being the eight-foot overhang that we added modern gold wire lanterns and wicker lamp shades to for that modern boho aesthetic,” the wedding planner shared. “The other element I loved was the wallpaper on the backdrop installations. Palm Springs is known for its bold colors and unique wallpaper. With painted wooden installations becoming more trendy as arches, we wanted to utilize the wallpaper and make a statement for the sweetheart table!”
Stephany Perry Events registration table display created the ideal photo opportunity, while Taylored Affairs‘ ceremony backdrop arch was a visually stunning statement.
“I immediately fell in love with all the colors of the mood board and decided to divide them into two completely different designs. It was my take on light and airy versus dark and moody,” Stephany Perry, owner of Stephany Perry Events exuded. “My absolute favorite elements were the custom name placemats Kulgrå made for the light and airy design. I wanted to do something fun and out of the box that would still fit with the theme. Incorporating modern touches with the boho palm spring vibes really brought my vision to life.”
“I loved all the different venus aspects from the trees, the greenhouse, the modern barn, and the courtyard. It was a unique experience designing a colorful Palm Springs-inspired tablescape,” Anna Taylor owner of Taylored Affairs added.
As guests enjoyed delicious treats and cocktails, Christopher Grainger, owner and lead DJ of Graingertainment, kept an upbeat musical atmosphere that made The Big Fake Wedding feel like an ultimate reception party. The 360-degree and mirrored photobooths provided a fun interactive experience while the espresso bar had everyone energized.
In addition to the endless photo opportunities, wedding inspiration, and truly unique experience The Big Fake Wedding provided, it was a reminder of the creativity Tampa Bay wedding vendors bring to the industry.
