Romantic Ivory & Blush Destination Wedding | Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach
Nicole and Travis hosted a romantic Clearwater Beach destination wedding celebrating the Bay area's sunlight and ocean.
“Travis is a very casual guy and lover of fishing, boating and the ocean. I am someone who likes to dress up and have pretty, decorative events,” the bride shared. “We couldn’t think of a better way of satisfying both our ideas of a dream wedding: an outdoor oceanfront ceremony with an indoor, elegant banquet room party.”

The teal, blush and ivory beach wedding featured a private rooftop wedding ceremony, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour overlooking Clearwater Beach and ballroom reception.
“We could not have dreamed for more,” Nicole gushed. “Not to mention the amazing hospitality and service offered by the staff of the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach, namely Lindsey Sikes. The dedication, communication and the effort made my day the most special and perfect it could be.”
When it came to finding for a wedding dress, the San Antonio bride flew to her hometown of Tampa to shop with her family.
“I purchased my gown from the Isabel O'Neil Bridal Collection because of the great service they offered from the moment we walked in the door, to the amazing, classy, elegant dresses they had in the boutique,” Nicole explained. It was a private, intimate setting where the store was closed for only me and the girls. I had always wanted an Ines Di Santo dress, and sure enough, they had endless arrays of them.”
With her bridesmaids all of the country, Nicole chose Bella Bridesmaids to outfit her girls.
“Since I was doing all my planning from San Antonio, I chose Bella Bridesmaids because of their customer service and how easy it was for the bridesmaids to order their dresses. Previous bridesmaids of mine had used Bella for their weddings, and I was very impressed with the high level of quality and service they provided,” the bride said. “Lastly, since their stores are in major U.S. cities, it was very convenient for out of town bridesmaids.”
With several out-of-town guests attending their wedding, it was important to Nicole and Travis that their friends and family have a memorable experience.
“The elements of our wedding that were most important to us were to ensure it was going to be a fun, enjoyable weekend for us and all our guests attending. We wanted to make sure our guests knew how appreciative we were and how much it meant to us for being a part of our special day,” the bride reminisced. “We simply just wanted our guests to have the greatest time ever.”
Describe your wedding dress shopping experience:
My wedding dress shopping experience was pretty unique in that I flew in quickly to Tampa from San Antonio with a few dress shops in mind, not having done research. By the end of the day, after trying endless amounts of dresses in front of my mom, aunts and cousin, I had said yes to the dress. We toasted with champagne and cookies, and could not have been happier.

The Proposal:
Our proposal was a very private and unexpected, happening on a random Saturday morning. I was in some not so attractive PJs, bedhead and no makeup. We were in our tiny NYC apartment, when I went to grab something from the fridge, where there was a box. I was puzzled at how there was a box in the fridge, thinking it was a fancy dessert from somewhere we had recently dined.
As I turned around, Travis was down on one knee with the ring in his hand, asking me to marry him. We celebrated after with some mimosas and lunch at an al fresco bar with close friends in NYC.
How would you describe your theme?
I would describe our theme as Florida romantic. I decided to choose it because I thought the warm tones, natural sunlight and feel of a rooftop ceremony painted a very romantic, Florida wedding.
Botanica executed amazingly with the flowers, linens and decor. They made the room look absolutely unrecognizable.
What were your colors and why did you chose them?
I chose vintage teal, with soft blushes, ivories and gold accents, because I am naturally more of a warmer toned person with a bubbly personality, and I appreciate light colors with some pops of contrast.
I especially chose the vintage teal bridesmaid dresses because the majority of my bridesmaids have light greenish/blue toned eyes, and I thought it would be complementing for each girl.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Make your wedding however YOU want it, with your styles and ideas and don’t let too many people know along the way. Surprise them at the end, while at the same time avoiding possible negative comments or concerns that make things difficult.
Also, the more you make it easy, convenient and enjoyable for your guests, the better outcome it will have. I would highly recommend any of the vendors I used to make your day as amazing as mine.
