Valerie and Justin's Love Story:
Justin is from Colorado and I'm from Illinois, but we came to Florida to attend the University of Tampa. Each of us decided to stay in Tampa after graduation and get jobs, where we ended up meeting
We met at work and started dating Memorial Weekend of 2010. We both knew early on that we were each others “the one.”
He proposed on Good Friday in 2013, on the beach where we had our first date, and we were married on the following February.
Navy Blue, Grey & Pink Waterfront Tampa Wedding
Valerie planned her Tampa wedding to celebrate with friends and family.
“I just wanted our guests to have a great time,” the bride said.
The couple knew they wanted to marry at St. John Greek Orthodox Church, but choosing a Tampa wedding reception venue was more of a challenge.
“We reached out to several venues in the area, but it seemed that we couldn't see the space for several days, or the dates didn't match up or people didn't get back to us in time. We chose the Marriott Waterside because we are rewards members and found the staff and space perfect,” Valerie explained.
The bride choose navy blue and gray with light pink accents for her downtown Tampa waterfront wedding.
“Blue is one of our favorite colors, and the gray and pink came about when I was looking at ideas on Pinterest. I just loved the color scheme,” the bride gushed. “I wanted our wedding to be classic and simple, yet pretty.”
When it came to hiring a Tampa wedding florist, the couple looked for someone who could put together the vision they had for their wedding day.”
“Scott [of Apple Blossoms Floral Design] was friendly, professional and offered great ideas for our wedding,” Valerie shared. “We had to change things until the week of the wedding, and Scott made that process easy and less stressful.”
Looking back, the bride shared one of her most memorable moments of the day.
“Walking down the aisle towards your future husband is like tunnel vision,” Valerie reminisced.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
You can't control what you can't control so don't stress. Everything will be OK.
Once you're engaged and you start planning, put together a general timeline to keep you on track and stay organized.
