Destination Sarasota Wedding | Powel Crosley Estate

When Josh proposed to Riley atop the Atlanta Westin, she knew there was only one wedding venue that she wanted to host her destination Sarasota wedding.

“Josh and I both wanted a venue that was unique. I just knew that I had to get married at the Powel Crosley Estate,” the bride gushed. “I had seen it years prior and fell in love. I was so happy to find out that they had one day left out of the entire year available for our wedding, a Monday.”

The Atlanta couple held an elegant champagne and blush private estate wedding in Sarasota.

“I wanted the style to be timeless and classy,” Riley shared.

The pair knew that planning a Florida destination wedding would be challenging and hired Sarasota wedding planner Oh So Classy Events.

“Sasha of Oh So Classy Events really took the time to talk to my mom and I about all aspects of planning a wedding. She helped make the entire process easy and never let it become overwhelming,” the bride shared. “The service we received was phenomenal. Everything turned out exactly as I envisioned it!”

Their guests experiences was one of their top priorities, and on the recommendation of their planner, the couple hired Breezin' Entertainment.

“We wanted someone who was fun and could make sure our guests had a fun night. Breezin' Entertainment had the best prices and came highly recommended,” Riley explained. “They did a great job and definitely kept our guests entertained.”

One of the most important elements to the bride and groom was their wedding photography.

“It was extremely important to us to have pictures to look back on years down the road that transported us back to our wedding day, and Ailyn La Torre Photography did just that!” the bride gushed. “Josh has never been a fan of having pictures taken, but after only a few minutes of our engagement shoot, he looked at me and said that he was having so much fun! Our engagement pictures and wedding pictures turned out better than I imagined.”

The Proposal:
Josh and I dated for three and a half years before we got engaged. Josh actually had one of my best friends help surprise me.

He met me at the top of the Westin hotel in Atlanta and proposed to me overlooking the city. It was so romantic and absolutely perfect!

Why did you hire a wedding planner?
I hired a wedding planner because I knew that doing a destination wedding would be extremely difficult without the help of a planner. Oh So Classy Events really took the time to talk to my mom and I about all aspects of planning a wedding. Sasha of Oh So Classy Events was always available when there were questions and found the best vendors! She helped make the entire process easy and never let it become overwhelming. What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
Someone who was easy to talk to and who understood what kind of photos were important to me. It was extremely important to us to have pictures to look back on years down the road that transport us back to our wedding day, and Ailyn La Torre Photography did just that!

Ailyn was so much fun to talk to and all of her photos are gorgeous. She truly took the time to get to know Josh and I and made us feel like her only clients.

How would you describe your theme?
Classic and elegant. I wanted the style to be timeless and classy.

What were your colors?
Champagne and blush. I chose these colors because they are elegant and timeless.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Make sure to have your caterer pack you a “to-go picnic.” You won't have much time to eat during the reception, but you will definitely be hungry by the time you get to your hotel.

I would also suggest waiting to travel to your final honeymoon destination until the next morning. It makes it much more relaxing the night of the wedding to know you don't have to hurry through your reception!
